What Kautuki is.
[read this part first]A live tutoring marketplace for Class 6–12, built for families in Tier 2, 3 and 4 India — hand-verified teachers, classes you pay for one at a time, and a study library that stays open in between. The five barriers we set out to remove are argued in full on the home page; what follows here are the four rules we design by.
- ✓Your pincode should not pick your teacher. A live class travels; an auto rickshaw does not.
- ✓You should see the teaching before the bill. Not a year’s fee paid before a single chapter.
- ✓It has to work on the phone you own. Entry-level Android, one bar of signal, shared with the family.
- ✓Someone has to have checked. A person on our team, not a rating average.

Your first class is free
The first session with any teacher costs ₹0 — and you may sit a free first class with more than one teacher before choosing.

You pay per class, never a package
No annual fee, no subscription, no deposit. The teacher is paid after the class happens, so a class that does not happen is never charged.

Every teacher is hand-verified by a person
Aadhaar identity, qualification papers and a background check — each read by someone on our team. Any single failure ends the application. See the marking scheme →

You read the profile first
Subjects, board, languages and the teacher’s own rate for each format — all shown before anything is booked. Nothing is hidden behind a phone call.

Free, and no card to start
Sign in with an OTP and sit the first session at ₹0. If the teacher is not right for your child, try another one — also free.

Built for one bar of signal
Adaptive video that falls back to audio with a synced whiteboard rather than dropping the class. 1:1 or a batch of ≤ 12, live, never a recording played back at you.

Afterwards
The class does not disappear
The recording, the whiteboard and session notes stay in your account at no extra fee, and a weekly report tells the parent what was actually covered.

Students in Class 6–12 and their parents, with Tier 2, 3 and 4 towns as the case we design for first — entry-level Android phones, uneven signal, and a family deciding carefully what a class is worth.
Q.Are you open yet?+
Not yet — we are signing up families and teachers for early access and opening in phases. Leave your number below and we will tell you when classes start in your area. Joining the list costs nothing.
Q.What does “hand-verified” actually mean?+
Identity against a government ID, qualification papers read by a person rather than scanned by a script, and a background check — all before a profile goes live. Verification is repeated if a teacher changes their documents, and a profile can be pulled on a parent complaint. The full marking scheme is here.
Q.How is this different from what we are offered now?+
Mainly in when you pay and who has been checked: one class at a time instead of a package in advance, and a teacher a person on our team has verified. We set the two models side by side in the comparison table.
Q.Where is our data kept?+
In Mumbai, on AWS ap-south-1, handled under the DPDP Act 2023. The privacy policy sets out exactly what we store and for how long.
